Privacy Policy
This policy explains how HVNT33 handles personal information through hvnt33.com, the Investigations newsletter, Founding 100 purchases, optional Discord onboarding and related support. Local use of the open-source HVNT33 Desktop application requires no HVNT33 account and sends no telemetry to HVNT33. A Cloud-specific notice will be published before Cloud accounts are activated.
Who is responsible
HVNT33 is responsible for the processing described here except where a provider acts independently under its own terms, such as Stripe acting as merchant of record for Managed Payments or Discord operating its platform. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to kai@hvnt33.com.
Information we handle
Website visits
The site does not use advertising trackers or client-side analytics. It stores only your light-or-dark theme choice in your browser. Vercel hosts the site and processes ordinary request and security logs, which can include IP address, request time, requested URL, browser or device information and diagnostic data.
Newsletter
When you request the Investigations newsletter, the site uses your email address to send a signed confirmation link. The address is not added to the list until you confirm. Resend then stores the address and subscription status and sends the welcome email and later investigations. Newsletter messages include an unsubscribe mechanism.
Founding Membership
Stripe collects checkout, billing, tax and payment information and sends receipts and invoices. HVNT33 receives transaction identifiers, payment status, customer identity and contact details needed to fulfill the purchase, prevent duplicate claims, provide support and record the Founding Membership. HVNT33 does not receive full payment-card numbers.
After a successful purchase, the buyer’s email address is sent to Resend for the Founding 100 welcome email and necessary founder or activation messages. Marketing newsletters require separate confirmation.
Discord connection
If you choose to connect Discord, Discord provides your user ID and display name. A short-lived OAuth token is used to add you to the HVNT33 server and assign the Founding 100 role, then revoked. The Discord user ID, display name and connection time are stored with the Stripe customer record to prevent one purchase from being claimed by multiple Discord accounts.
Support and legal requests
We handle the contact details, message and related account or transaction information you provide. Do not send card details, passwords, private sources or unpublished evidence by email.
Why we use it
- to provide the site, newsletter, purchase, membership and optional Discord onboarding you request;
- to authenticate requests, secure the Services, prevent fraud and enforce purchase limits;
- to send receipts, confirmations, activation and other service messages;
- to answer support, refund, privacy and legal requests;
- to comply with accounting, tax, sanctions, consumer-protection and other legal duties; and
- to diagnose reliability and security problems using limited host logs.
Depending on where you live, the legal bases are performance of a contract, your consent, compliance with legal obligations and legitimate interests in securing and operating the Services. You may withdraw consent where consent is the basis, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Providers and disclosures
Information is disclosed only as needed to:
- Vercel, for website hosting, functions, delivery and security logs;
- Stripe and Link, for Managed Payments, tax, invoices, receipts, fraud, disputes, refunds and transaction support;
- Resend, for newsletter and Founding Membership email;
- Discord, only when you choose to connect or participate; and
- professional advisers, authorities or other parties when reasonably necessary to protect rights, address safety or security, complete a business reorganization, or comply with law.
HVNT33 does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The site does not use targeted advertising.
Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above. Newsletter information remains with Resend until you unsubscribe or request deletion, subject to a minimal suppression record needed to honor the opt-out. Stripe transaction and customer records are retained for fulfillment, refunds, fraud prevention, accounting and legal obligations. Discord-link metadata is retained while needed to administer the Founding Membership and prevent duplicate claims. Host and support records follow configured provider retention and applicable legal requirements.
International processing
HVNT33 and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where law requires, the responsible party uses an approved transfer mechanism or another lawful safeguard. Provider terms and privacy notices contain more information about their locations and safeguards.
Your choices and rights
You may unsubscribe from marketing email at any time. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing; receive portable data; withdraw consent; opt out of certain disclosures; appeal a refusal; or complain to a regulator. You will not be discriminated against for exercising a privacy right.
Send a request to kai@hvnt33.com. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify the request and protect the account. Authorized agents may make requests where applicable law allows.
Security
We use measures designed to protect information, including encrypted transport, restricted secrets, signed links, webhook verification and limited OAuth access. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Preserve sensitive research locally unless Cloud documentation expressly says the relevant data is supported.
Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and purchases are limited to adults who can enter a contract. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information so it can be reviewed and removed as appropriate.
Other sites and future Cloud notice
Stripe, Link, Discord, GitHub and other external services apply their own notices when you visit them. Before activating Cloud accounts, HVNT33 will publish details about Cloud storage, collaboration, Hunter processing, subprocessors, retention, deletion, exports and incident handling. What Desktop contacts today is described in the architecture’s trust boundaries.
Changes
We may update this policy to reflect product, provider or legal changes. The page will identify the current version and effective date. We will give additional notice when required or when a material change affects an existing paid membership.
